From the post:

>A major search operation is underway at one of Austria's largest ski resorts today after multiple skiers were swept away in a huge avalanche. The avalanche struck at around 9.30am this morning in open terrain near the Daunscharte pass, an area outside the marked pistes, on the Stubai Glacier, according to officials. Terrifying video showed skiers desperately trying to outrun the avalanche as it thundered down the glacier.
Several skiers were on this off-piste area, which police have said triggered the avalanche. A lower section of piste 9 at the resort was also hit by the giant wall of snow and closed immediately.

There is a job where people test the slopes to see if there is any danger of an avalanche, and if so, set off some charges to trigger it when nobody is there so it doesn't kill anyone (like doing a controlled burn to prevent forest fires). I'm guessing this job is now being done by some nigger who doesn't even know how to ski.

In the USA there are some automated systems to do this now. Remote controlled "avalanche cannons". It would have been fun to get to run those back when they were using old artillery guns...
