Electric cars are an inferior, dirty technology that is not nearly ready for prime time, and may never be ready. They simply do not make good sense when compared with conventional internal combustion tech, which has been refined over more than a century. Electric cars are harder on the environment, they cost more, and they will not do the things the average car owner demands of his vehicle. In a warm state such as southern California you can get by with an electric car, if you are willing to make significant sacrifices in performance and convenience, but in a cold state like Montana, electric cars are not even a starter. They can not cope with winter conditions. And under no conditions are they better for the environment or more cost efficient.
