It never phases me if ultimately some of these new engines are worthless. The mechanical designs always fascinate me. I believe genius can still be found in failure.

Interesting. Opposed piston designs have been tried before. I also see a rpm limit being expressed by the motion of the connecting rod on the gear. Similar to the one we have now with the standard 4 stoke. As shown, it has a really long stroke.
I dont know that I'd refer to this as a rotary though. just a circular implementation of an opposed piston design, adopting valves similar to those used in some rotary engines.
It is cool and different though.
