I'm skeptical how "tricked" he was. Did they lie to him? That I believe. Did he choose not to conduct even the most cursory research on "what has DrugName been used for and what are its downsides"? Now *that* would be honest, because we know he did less due diligence for his child than any of us would do for medication for the family dog. In addition to the complete lack of due diligence (dude, I've put more research into grease for an easily replaceable rifle than you did for your child's drugs), at no point did he ask the completely obvious question "Why am I parenting so poorly that my child is massively delusional?" That isnt a whim, it's because your child is being abused, neglected, or both and you aren't doing jack all about it.
