The ADL is composed of narcissists who believe they're amazing and the world revolves around them, ergo any criticism is a personal attack due to bias. Because only a raging bigot would criticize a Perfect Person (what narcissists think they are). In addition, narcissists lack the self awareness to realize how they are perceived by others. In their minds, their self perception of perfection is reality. As opposed to the rest of us who are cognizant that we may e.g. believe Hawaiian shirts are awesome, but everyone else thinks we look like a total dork.

That lack of self awareness is their Achilles' heel, more so when they are in higher positions of power: They are unable to recognize when the root of the support structure they depend on is failing, making it harder for them to mend the damage in order to keep their position.

In other words, attacking a narcissist directly is pointless (they don't care what you say), instead pick away at their support until it ruptures and they'll have no clue how they fell. The story of Jericho comes to mind.
