Fuck around and find out.

Fuck around and find out.

Critics of Musk are outraged that he would fire the workers just weeks before Christmas.

There's never a good time.

[–] 9 pts

I like how he's being blamed for the I'll timing of firing people who chose to stop working...

[–] 10 pts

Exactly, if it wasn't a good time to get fired then maybe it wasn't a good time to go on strike.

[–] 1 pt

Repercussions are a bitch.

[–] 3 pts

"Let me just do something stupid with my families lifeline right before the coldest month of the year"

gets fired

"Oh no, the consequences of my actions! How dare he try to keep this hemorrhaging business from completely burning to the ground"

Critics of Musk are outraged that he would fire the workers just over a week before Hanukkah.

Probably not many Jewish janitors at Twitter, unless they were paid incredibly well and/or were spies tapping into the network.

[–] 1 pt

So kwanza? Nah those fuckers wouldn't be working either.

[–] 1 pt

They didn't need to be well paid, the data they have collected is shekelless.

[–] 3 pts

It wasn't a good time to strike then was it?

[–] 1 pt

Exactly.

For every action, there is a reaction.

[–] 1 pt

No! It's the evil Elon Musk's fault!

Everyone knows leftists can't be held responsible for their actions!

:)

Pretty shitty either way tho, no notice and no severance aint no joke. Musk is leading the way for disregarding people as Indvidual's, it's one thing when its your enemies etc but not so cool if anyone of us walked into our work today only to be told 'Oh hey some new guy owns the place - sorry you're out. Severance ??, days in lieu ?? Notice ??. Buddy just get the fck out '.

[–] 3 pts

Their 'not working' was the notice they gave themselves.

[–] 0 pt

Nah, According to the article, Seems it all began when 20 employees were told on the friday they were gone, fired with no notice no severance - which precipitated the strike by the Union on the monday. Again, have your work contact you at the end of this week telling you 'fired' with no severance is pretty shitty.

One thing I notice is this people running too big to exist corporations don't seem to be human. Bill Gates, especially. His mannerisms are like autists, very strange. Zuckerberg, Bezos, etc. Then we getting into politics and you get the Faucis, Fuck Joe Biden, Kamel Toe all those fags... it's crazy! These people aren't human.

[–] 0 pt

Fuck that. You could burn twitter to the ground with every single employee in it and be doing the world nothing but a favor. Also their strike was likely just another layer in the multi tier attack against twitter because its no longer doing exactly what they want.

[–] 0 pt

I dont care bout twatter, i care that large corporations can simply fire workers without cause, no notice and no severance. Its part of you will own nothing and be happy globohomo bs.

Establish union for unskilled labor. Act shocked when replaced with not unionized unskilled labor.

Bring nothing special to the table and make demands. Bold strategy.

He didn't fire them, he cancelled the contract. They work for someone else. If they want to strike for better pay they should have done it in front of thier employer's headquarters. This was a political attack.

[–] 0 pt

That's a very well rational take. The people striking don't work for musk and never had. I doubt most people would understand the nuance but it's what separates normal markets from mandates.

[–] 5 pts

the union organized a strike with the rest of the janitors against the firings, saying the company was violating local cleaning regulations.

Cleaning regulations? The state and city with drug addicts shitting in the streets has cleaning regulations. Give me a fucking break.

[–] 1 pt

Lol my god. Similar to Twitter establishing sleeping areas, San Francisco keeps falling back on these regulations like it's a good thing. Normal people react like wait what there are regulations for that?

I wonder if hospitals have to deal with residential regulations for their sleeping areas

[–] 2 pts

He should move the headquarters to Texas and fire everyone else in the building too.

[–] 2 pts

How hard is it to find a bunch of beaners to clean floors and change trash bags? Lmfao.

Stupid fucks.

[–] 1 pt

Millions walking across the boarder. He could grab a few down in Boca chica easily

[–] 1 pt

Unions have outlived their usefulness.

[–] 1 pt

Musk didn't fire anyone. He cut the services he ordered from a janitorial contact company (FlagShip) who had the cleaning contract.

Musk cutting services only makes sense 1) he cut people and meals at Twitter so much less to clean and 2) anyone who has had an office job and bothered to learn who their janitors were knows that 80+ for a building of 7500 (what it was at twitter pre-layoffs, so it was too high even then) is fucking stupid. You don't need even half that many. You probably could get by with less than a quarter.

The custodial contractor then instead if moving them somewhere else or eating the losses until they got more contacts layed people off when musk cut order. Then Musk totally canceled the contract when it didn't deliver services he actually wanted because they didn't show up to work.

Imagine if you bought a new house. The prior owner had paid for a lawn mowing service and while you get settled in you just kept it to keep things easy.

After living there a couple months you decide that the lawn bill is stupid high though. The lawn company tells you, "But, sir, you have the platinum package, that comes with five yard workers."

You say, "Yeah, but I have like quarter acre lot. I don't need five people. I probably don't need two. Give me something cheaper."

The lawn guys show up the next day and instead of cutting your grass stand there and say, "We're losing wages without you having the platinum service. Go back to that or we won't cut your grass at all."

So you decide, "Oh ok, don't cut my grass then. I'll get someone else or do it myself or whatever."

Then everyone blames you for ruthlessly firing the employees of the lawn company.

That's what Elon is dealing with.

Yes, I know, I was just sharing the article.

[–] 1 pt

So, it's OK to walk off the job, as long as it's their idea...

I can enjoy one of the things hes doing while also accepting that hes just another piece of shit fucking up the world.
