There’s that word again: “hate speech”..
They use it as a catch-all for anything they don’t agree with.
They think that instead of being forced to defend poorly constructed ideas, they can just label anything that challenges them as “hate” and therefore, invalidate any competing ideas.
That’s not how adults have discussions. It is, however, how three-year-olds have discussions.
If a parent tells a child “no, you can’t have cookies for dinner”, the child may charge the parent with “hate”, but it doesn’t make it so.
Newsflash: not every disagreement is rooted in so-called “hate”. In fact, very little of them actually are.
And for the disagreements which are rooted in “hate”, so what? People have a right to voice their opinions whether hateful or otherwise. And you’re a fucking adult. “So and so doesn’t agree with me! Reeeeee!” is not an adult response.
They need to be taken to task on this forcefully every single time.
