Wish me luck.

So this is probably called a superdyne. I've identified the battery connections and need to clean terminals. Assuming there's no internal age-related damage and all of the tubes work, this thing may play one more time.

Too bad, I was hoping for some opinion piece written by Henry Ford.

Nah, the papers are Columbus Disgrace from the late 1970s. Probably when the original owner packed it up for the last time.

He didn't even have the good sense to use the Citizen-Journal, which would have been at least interesting from a historical standpoint.

If you ever get to see an old home (plater walls) getting torn down or remodeled, those usually had newspaper stuffed in the walls as insulation, and more likely to be from the time when there was more truth being published.

I'll take a look at the paper again before it goes away. I seem to remember some financial world stories that basically were "It's all the same, only the names have changed" type things. If there's anything I find of note, I'll photo it - but for the most part, these are so crumbly it's hard to do anything with them.

The tubes for the radio were wrapped in them.
