Nothing special except it looks cool. Output is pegged at max. I'd think either the regulator IC (in the forground) or the big power transistor it uses for current (not shown) would be bad, but nope. It was that little transistor underneath the IC that was a dead short, even my component tester said it was a resistor. Fortunately, it's an S8050 type, easy to get. Put a new one in, and it's back in operation. Like I need another power supply...
