We have an 3 year old 7-port USB 3.0 hub from China (cost: around €5, rather than €20), and it always worked well.

Likewise, several Powstro automobile power outlet phone chargers just worked fine and delivered fast charging reliably for over 3 years, at 1/6 of the price (around €3, rather than over €20).

But I recommend against cheap home wall adapters, as these handle much higher voltages. But many other chinese "garbage" electronics might just work fine!

As long as it's not dealing with mains voltages, chink crap is usually good enough for the home gamer. This goes for Arduino modules as well; I've picked up a couple of modules for really cheap (around $2) that work well enough for prototyping and testing. I'd never use them in production though, as there's no guarantee as to longevity or reliability.
