USB connections on phones are prone to dust and grime, especially if your case doesn't have a port flap. Kinked cables also contribute to ineffeciency. My phone is about 5 years old now and can only charge by wireless connection.
With the advent of non removable batteries, there's not much else you can do besides uninstall unnessecary apps.

The dust can be carefully removed with a toothpick.

Non-replaceable batteries are cancer because they force users to either use their phone frugally or prematurely wear down the battery.

USB fans are only cooling the outer part of the phone case. The temp inside is still the same.

According to my testing, it cools down the phone significantly.

The battery temperature sensor shows around 8°C less.

Depends which phone. Those made out of plastic don’t get the same results.
