Being ready for huge societal changes is kind of like surfing. It's a matter of being ready and positioned long before the wave. If you're standing on the beach, and you see the wave coming? You're already far, far too late. Do you know how many members there were in the Freier Arbeiterausschuss für einen guten Frieden (Free Workers' Committee for a good Peace) in 1916? Six. The "National Socialist Freedom Movement" polled 3% of the vote in the December 1924 Reichstag elections and this fell to 2.6% in 1928. Then the stock market crash of 1929 happened. And suddenly, in 1932, for no reason at all, everybody got up, went out and voted for Hitler. And for over 12 years they shook the world.
