Killing family sets a very dangerous precedent, it's actually what the chinese do. Besides, 20 years is long enough that any family they did have would have long since moved on by then, she'll be lucky if her mum and dad come to see her once a month or so.
Imprisoning the family for accepting proceeds of crime however is a different matter entirely.
