In a fair, rational and sane world, destroying the evidence of an election result that is in dispute should immediately invalidate the result from that state. If you cannot confirm what is in dispute, then it is safer and logical and throw the whole result out as unverifiable.

Not only that, the people who did the destroying should be severely punished.

It is also tampering with evidence and shows bad intent.

Jail time is called for.
