Only up until just after Morrowind. Between Morrowind and Oblivion, Juib (the guy who wakes you up on the boat at the very beginning of Morrowind) rode a Silt Strider around Morrowind and killed them all, becoming a Saint in the process. He then dies in the Siege of Kvatch.
