Same soul, multiple bodies. For instance, Tiber Septim was multiple people before he became Talos. They just acted like Tiber Septim so much, they all became Tiber Septim. Then they Mantled Lorkhan, and became Talos.

I haven't seen the movie, but the summary makes it sound more like Highlander than Mantling.

In essence you combine the life force of the many to make a greater one. So yes a mix of highlander and mantling. Fuck the morrowind universe if people are all pcs of a greater god. power is meaningless.
