Mantling is when a person acts so much like another person, the universe can no longer tell the difference between the two, and they become the same person.

"… walk like them until they must walk like you." ―Nu-Hatta of the Sphinxmoth Inquiry Tree

Notable examples:

  • In Morrowind, the main character Mantles Nerevar
  • In Oblivion, the Hero of Kvatch Mantles both Pelinal Whitestrake and Sheogorath
  • In Skyrim, the Last Dragonborn Mantles Talos

Seems like military would fail for this this reason.

Same soul, multiple bodies. For instance, Tiber Septim was multiple people before he became Talos. They just acted like Tiber Septim so much, they all became Tiber Septim. Then they Mantled Lorkhan, and became Talos.

Kind of like the movie The One but not the same person through multiple realities.

I haven't seen the movie, but the summary makes it sound more like Highlander than Mantling.
