Teaching used to have more prestige. You're the figurehead to guide the young. And personally, I have some who helped me to become the person that I am (all men from the based department pushed me to be great in this one subject)
I am more blackpilled about this now, all of the based ones are retired.
Edit: I only had him for half a year, but I still 'member. We would ask "Can you tell us more about the JFK assassination?" (It was his second favorite thing to talk about) he would respond "We should really get back to the subject. But if the class average is more than 75, I will." Like I said, he had a really good way to push his students.
