Not at all. I was brought up in a house where trades were the main income. I ended up in tech over time but I still know how to do all of those things. It is a good thing to know how to do the very basics of everything. Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry, Auto work, Gardening, Cooking, etc.......
In the not-so-distant future, it not when you find a qualified tradesman, but if.
