This is so stupid. At least they are not making it a graduation requirement. The only purpose of trying to require computer science (programming) as a graduation requirement is to flood the market with young people that can "program" and to suppress wages in the market.
Why else do you think all of the major tech companies are pushing for this and investing millions (other than tax write-offs)? It's so in 10-15 years a job that would pay $75k starting now will only pay $45k starting.
