Consider Vanderbilt very efficient compared to this:

"Harvard University employs about 1,352 full-time administrators for every 1,000 undergraduate students enrolled at the university, an analysis conducted by The College Fix found."

Nearly every College is administratively top heavy and they are way too over paid. This is one of the major reasons that College became so fucking expensive.

When you have a near guaranteed cash stream (government backed student loans) you become extremely wasteful.

Agreed. Even so, why do they think they require so many administrators?

Use-it-or-lose it budgets. They operate like most of the government. If they have 'extra' money in a budget they spend it even if they don't need to. I have direct experience with this sadly... Things like end of fiscal year spending "We have 1.2 million in the budget that we need to spend. Find a way to spend it".

Its fucking infuriating.

You know? I hear things like this and think, yea, we need a big fire to burn it all down. It's not salvageable.

I'd guess they're mostly diversity hires with accents.
