They have set up a system where the only performance metric they are judged on this their ability to whine about bullshit. The better they are at whining, and the more contrived the bullshit they whine about, the higher they rise in the ranks. These people provide absolutely zero economic value to the rest of society, and if it were not for their ability to be faithful and steadfast to a heavily promoted and endorsed political ideology, they would be completely unemployable.
