That would imply your GPA means something though

In the real world of the based, it still does. In the Marxist world of woke, it becomes an obstacle to the advancement of POC, so it is ignored. If you are asian, White, male, high GPA ... or God forbid MAGA, there may be headwinds. Assuming GPA is meaningless will defeat the competitive spirit that drives people to excel. Don't fall for the narrative.
