I'm sorry. They can't teach self sufficiency. This would kill big agra and (((big pharma))).

A good third of those sound like teaching minors how to make and find drugs.

We can't have that! The CIA will go out of business!

I regularly tell my kids that the most important class they take is culinary arts. The rest they won’t ever use in a career, minus basic math.

I learned a bunch of those things when I was a schoolkid. We had Shop class and Home Economics.

Both classes were probably electives, I had them too. They should be REQUIRED for all boys and girls in Senior Year.

Nope. They were required courses for all middle school kids.

I went to a Rudolf Steiner "waldorf school". We learned most of those things on that list. Our school had a full garden & livestock. Spinning wool & knitting was mandatory. Waldorf taught everything & i mean everything. Atleast 3 times more learning and subjects than public schools. The school is a little too much PEGAN for my taste, but there is no school better than Waldorf if you have kids and can afford it.

We learned most of that, but it was just in passing. I think a lot of those lessons should be repeated at least once a year like first aid, as you tend to forget without much practice.

Unfortunately, we can't teach everyone foraging because people are generally assholes and will destroy whatever "nature's bounty" is in their area. Look anywhere with ramps, morels, chanterelles, and guided "foraging" tours. They'll dig up more than is sustainable to show off to their friends and the spots start to dry up.

I've learned more from reading and applying that knowledge, than from anything I learned in school.

I'm hoping to find some affordable books on mushroom ID and foraging. I think it'd be cool to hunt for mushrooms and other woodland edibles in the case society collapses.

Shut up. You just want to trip your ass off in a field you fuckin hippy.
