People forget that in 1791, it was George "Father of Our Country" Washington himself, that rode out at the head of an army to put down a tax rebellion, with 13,000 militiamen provided by the governors of Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.

This is why the government must always be in fear of the people. The persistent threat of a little revolution now and then is no bad thing.
