My kids are 5 and 7...I predict a third the currently-existing colleges in the US will be out of business by the time they graduate from high school.

10 years from now 30% of US colleges are out of business? How come?

Impending hyperinflation and complete lack of affordability to a large section of the population

It's a number of factors:

  1. What wypipo said (great username BTW)
  2. The complete lack of value of some colleges, regardless of affordability. People are starting to wise up to the fact that you don't actually need a college degree for a large number of jobs. In fact some schools are simply just 4 year parties.
  3. Many students will migrate to virtual schools
  4. At some point, the government-driven subsidies will end. It isn't sustainable.
