We had different levels of classes when I went to school. We had the standard curriculum and the advanced curriculum for smarter kids. That would never fly now.

That's an interesting point - is there advanced material available within the common core system for the grade school kids. I'm only aware of Advanced Placement in high school where you can take an exam and qualify for college credits. I do know that common core is messed up when they teach math to encourage two or more possible answers (who wants to buy fast food and get two possible amounts of change instead of the CORRECT change? This is why I started trying to give only exact change and not depend on getting correct change from the teens working fast food ).
