I have quite a number of years invested in academia. This doesn't mean I know everything - it means I've learned how to learn. So, if there's something y'all want to know about, I'm happy to learn more about it myself and see if I can encourage others to spend some time learning.

I'm running low on time, which means I'll have less time to spend on busy sites like Voat - but I'll have time to deal with slower moving sites and topics.

I absolutely don't know everything. That's not why I went to school. I pursued higher education to learn how to learn.

My specialty is applied mathematics (pure math is just masturbation and applied math gets shit done). But, I'm fairly fluent in the other hard sciences (with a preference for physics). So, I'd be happy to learn along with you should it be a topic I'm not well versed in.

Like I said, they'd end up being mostly slow-moving threads. Maybe we pick a subject each week and hash it out on a Sunday afternoon? I'm pretty old and there's a ton of stuff I don't know. There won't be a tomorrow, so I might as well learn it today.

I'd prefer to leave it to the hard sciences and mathematics. Those are my preferred subjects. I do a weekly guitar thread on Voat - but a weekly science or math thread might be kind of fun.

Thoughts?

Friction... We need to overcome friction and stiction.

Force is the answer. The answer is frequently force!

I do have a script for v/Mathemagician that lets people use MathJax on the sub. I'll have to dig it out and see if I can make it work with Poal. It shouldn't be too difficult.
