We live in networks, not communities, and everyone I know is lonely because of that.

Edit: Just noticed that was written in 1990, after reading further and a couple phrases struck me as being out of date, like "flickering computer terminal"
That first quote is more way ahead of it's time than that guy probably understood at the time.
