Maybe it will make housing more affordable

Hopefully this. Sure I don't want my home to decrease in value, but I'm not selling anytime soon and young people are getting crushed by high home/rent prices. Unlike many of the boomers, I'm willing to take a bit of a haircut if it helps the younger generations.
