From the post:

>Big Lots is beginning 'going out of business' sales at all its stores across the US, as it prepares to close its remaining locations. The discount retail chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September, and has already shut hundreds of stores nationwide. In a press release Thursday, the company said it would begin the sales at its 963 remaining locations, after a sale to a private equity firm fell through.

Who buys the merchandise from stores going out of business going out of business?

When the DISCOUNT stores are going out of business you know its not a good sign for everyone else.

It's time for a ton of stores to go down. There has always been way too much retail. This was only a matter of time.

This isn't over by a long shot. Retailers will continue going out of business until very few are left. Later, new retailers will emerge. We have a perfect storm of a very bad economy and inflation hitting at the same time.

I'm actually watching Amazon because even though people are still buying, they're facing other business problems. They depend on large sales volume to keep their warehouses operational. That will be or is deteriorating. They're already having labor problems. I'm guessing the "burn rate" will start climbing and decisions will need to be made as to how to keep the company open. Amazon is big, and so is their overhead. They're not immune.
