Well yeah... They are tired of profit's being cut into so they are going to do the next logical thing. Automate out the people as much as possible.
Remember, robots don't take breaks, they don't get sick or ask for time off, they don't give customers more food out of spite for the company they work for...etc.
Oh, and then there is the constant forced minimum wage increases. Eventually it will be cheaper just to hire someone to maintain the robots from time to time and a person or two to keep ingredients stocked.. until even that is replaced.
