It's "open source" in name only. You can try to fork it, but good luck getting anyone to care. The code base is fully controlled by spooks that are paid by jewish mafia bankers. Read "Hijacking Bitcoin".
I didn't bring up open source as an attempt to fork it, it's there for everyone to review so they can see for themselves whether it's "completely toast" or not.
Ironically, spooks trying to change the code base with their "full control" is, in fact, forking. As you just pointed out, it's an uphill battle for anyone to fork as they have to convince all the nodes and miners around the world to switch to the new code base.
You'll have to paraphrase what you're freaked out about in Hijacking Bitcoin cause so far all you're spouting is FUD.
