Well Kroger likes to put prices on the shelves then surprise you with different ones when you check out.
Dozen eggs….WHITE family $6.59
Dozen eggs….Nigger EBT….$1.58
We know 3 farm stands and 2 home chicken owners. Never pay more than ~3$/dozen for much higher quality and fresh. Not something sitting in a cooler truck or refrigerator for a couple of weeks.
Make friends with your local farmers, ranchers, etc.
I do that, however, farmers are charging $5/dozen. I've also noticed that some farm stands seem to wax their fruit and sometimes even apply barcode labels to their "fresh" fruit.
Regular shelf label stickers can be changed (manually) while you are in the store too. I've seen stockers changing labels while people shopped. It's been happening for a long time. Also, the price at the POS (point of sale) checkout can be changed electronically with ease. If the shelf label says a lower price but the POS has a higher price, the customer will be charged the higher POS price unless they catch the difference and make a stink. I have seen this a few times as well, but most people don't pay close attention at checkout so they pay the higher prices.
This change is not dynamic pricing because the dynamic pricing system was already in place for years.
Labels are replaced mid to end of day. Pricing on said labels go into effect next day at start of buisness...

That's not universal. I regularly see labels being changed during regular shopping hours at my stores. POS prices change to reflect the new labels but could precede the label changes. Not all stores/chains have the policy you describe.
