They write this like this is a choice for most people. We need to ban investment funds / groups like blackrock from owning single family homes and give them 3 years to sell off their inventory. We also need to ban foreign investing and speculation in our housing market(s).

From the post:

>Families who have turned their backs on the struggle to own their own homes in the overheated property market say they have few regrets – even if it means being priced out forever. The proportion of single-family homes being built for rent has doubled in two years as corporates eye up those who have had enough of paying a mortgage. Analysts warn that the trend will only drive prices higher for those determined to buy, but the temptation to halve their housing costs and ditch the worries of ownership is proving hard to resist, with a third of all rentals now single-family homes.

...give them 3 years to sell off their inventory.

Lol, no, fuck that. Give them 30 days. Make homes great (and affordable) again.

But, realistically, you have the right idea. (Don't have time to read it all rn.) Also, make it so any and all foreign investment companies (and companies like them) can not own private property on US soil, period. There would have to be preventative measures put into place so sock puppets couldn't slide in on the sly, too. There's so many problems rn, this would be a start to some solutions, tho

Yeah, I would say 30 days but logistically its not really feasible and will contribute to a flash-crash of the market. There also need to be rules on how many properties an individual can own for the purpose of renting out so they can't just own 400 properties themselves. I'm still willing to limit this to single family homes but then there needs to be laws/rules that limit the amount of multi family properties that can exist in any given city/county/etc.

Im with you on the foreign property stuff though. New Zeeland won't allow a non-citizen of their country to own property in the country and it is not easy to get citizenship. That is another good idea. How is even Canada ahead of us on this one? It caused massive divesting from the market and dramatically decreased home prices.

"In 2022, the federal government passed the Prohibition on the Purchase of Residential Property by Non-Canadians Act to ban foreign investors from buying residential property in Canada and to ensure the housing market remains available to Canadians"

You think like I do. If I was president, I would extend the invitation for you to be in my cabinet. Zero joke. Level, lol, as in balance.

Idk anything about you, but you are one of the users here I would like to see hold public office. Mayor would be a start. You never know, think about it. Take @boone with you, add him as your diversity hire, kek!!!

I hate the idea of running for office and dealing with the swamp people... Not that it has not passed my mind before and eventually I may just say fuck it and try for it. Too bad I would have to stop posting here and would just have to lurk. The media would love to see the things we talk about here.
