Speaking of life support, I'm so old I can remember when Best Buy put Circuit City out of business - they were on life support in their last years too.

Circuit City was kind of failing yes - but they shot themselves in the foot when they fired all of their experienced staff for wal-mart drones. Up until then, you could go to clueless city and have a reasonably, if not quite knowledgeable person answer your questions about technology.

Yes they did. Circuit City was about a mile from my work and one of my favorites back in the day.
