It has nothing to do with the fact that prices have outpaced wages for the last 40 years and it's now above and beyond what normal people can afford, and a lot of people of any age simply do not have the income to service the debt these purchases require.
I have a pretty good job, but I couldn't qualify for a house in my neighborhood these days.
