I could get more for my low mileage truck then I paid for it 3.5 years ago. Then I'd be walking because there's nothing to buy, lots are empty, ordering new could take forever. It's ridiculous.

I've been flipping cars. Putting in the extra hours sucks but it's worth it. Buy a car that's busted for $500-$1,000, put in $500-$2,000 for parts + my own labor, sell for $10,000+.

I'm about to sell a 2nd Gen CRV with 200,000 miles on it and a rebuilt engine. Rings, bearings, gaskets, and fluids were under $500. Which is what I payed for it. Gonna post on Craigslist for $10,000. Should be gone in a couple days.

Who the fuck pays $10,000, or more for a vehicle with 200,000 miles or more on it?

Current market dude

Edit: factors include freshly rebuilt engine and location. Car prices vary wildly depending on where you are buying.

My son's friend does that, blows my mind what's he's gotten for junk.

I always detail them and make it as fresh as possible. Often I'm surprised with the results. I show pictures of all the issues with the car that I know. And the bigger issues that I fixed to keep it out of the crusher. I'm not a used car dealer. I'm a refurbished car guy. There's a difference.

Edit: keep it on the road

I don't feel guilty ever though. I just rebuilt that engine. Now pay me, thank you. Trans might take a shit but my work is solid. I'm trying to make profits but there is no snakey shit.

This is what NPCs get for voting for money printer go brrrr

https://archive.md/khlXN This is forced and not natural. If this were natural people would be selling the cars themselves rather than going to some (((car redealer))) an getting 50% chopped off the top.

This is forced to get people to upgrade to new (((cars))) rather than using reliable older cars.

How the heck is this possible, market decides... The buyers & sellers. Unless the dealerships go out & buy out all the junkers en masse what you're saying is not possible...

...but here we have the lying sack of shit hand grubbers using the covid as a scapegoat, but readers are not drinking the Koolaid. Read the comments. (marketwatch.com)

Cash for Klunkers was a scam to get perfectly usable and serviceable vehicles out of the market and to make any vehicles not turned over serviceable since all the other vehicles were destroyed making the market for used parts decimated.

True, but that in 2009.

Yeah, and look where it got us.

Yep. The second that was promoted, I knew we were fucked as far as cars went. No more 500$ clunker that would run without any serious work for a year or two, much less the 900$ car I got that lasted me 9 years before I sold it. That thing is probably still on the road even with all the rust and dog smell on warm days (previous owner let their dog live in it like a dog house - sigh. Vermont).

And all the new cars had computers in them Great for tracking your movements.

My favorite is the niggers who got rid of their hoopties then financed new SUVs with worse gas mileage than their shitbuckets only to get them repossessed.

And it didn't even really target the cars that should have been off the road. The vehicle I was driving met the age requirement, but being from the 80s had the EPA fluff factor built in, there was no way that thing got 40MPG when it was new. It should have been off the road and I would have happily taken the cash for it to get something more modern.

The point became moot in 2007 when someone T-boned me and I got a new vehicle which I'm still driving.

>So you think they will continue to wait for somebody else to do something about it?

Everybody thought somebody should do something about everything, but nobody did anything.

I bought a new minivan in April and finally got delivery in September. Would cost $7000 more to buy the same van today.

Cash for Clunkers, Shipping Problems, Biden's secret inflation.
