Yeah, right. "Sick". Had he voted, this would have been a tie. But he was conveniently sick.
Even so, the Republicans intended for this to pass, because:
>Earlier, Republicans agreed to a one-time exception to the filibuster, allowing the Democrats to pass the debt hike by a simple majority vote rather than meeting the 60-vote threshold.
So, once again, Republicans prove themselves to be traitors.
