Considering everything you've heard from the media/politicians has been lies for decades, this is no exception.

All tyrannical governments steal wealth from its citizens. They call the theft with euphemisms like QE, inflation, welfare, foreign aid and so on. It's all theft. They spend more time constructing lies about their activities than they do actually looting. And it seems to work.
