Just started watching re-runs of the Beverly Hillbillies [1962-1971] over the past few days. Granny went to the Supermarket for the first time and her grocery bill (for Thanksgiving) was $28.25.

In 1960 $4,000 a year was considered a good wage. Minimum wage was $1.00 an hour.
