The more prudent point is you can make the exact same wage where I am in the midwest, and I do. I can only believe that this company is looking for H1B instead of citizens.

That's what they do. They advertise shit wages and then claim there's no workers available and they need H1B workers.

Yep. I get plenty of job contacts where they ask what your visa type is. They don't want a citizen.
