Seriously, $20-30 in Santa Barbara? If you're a tech making $50,000 in Cleveland, OH, then Sperling's Cost of Living calculator suggests you'd need $164,000 in California.

This job has been open for at least a month. Wonder why they can't fill it?

You could still move to the North Midwest if you want Germanics not Hispanics. (Obviously spics are everywhere but still its whiter)

I wouldn't live in Cali just because of the high chance of being smited by God for living near San Francisco.

Wouldn't selling your expensive California home make it easier to afford a house elsewhere?

I can pay for a house cash and still have money left over (which will be subject to capital gains). The affordability problem is with health insurance (employer pays here), property taxes (they're capped in California). Just health insurance is worth about $2,500 a month.

Is that coverage on health insurance for more than just you?
