This is one of the big problems with people today. They live well above their means even when they are making good money. How the fuck can you be broke when you are bringing in ~$140k/yr? Well, you live above your means... For fuck sake, they have $60k in CAR debt.

From the post:

>A finance guru tore into a woman about her and her partner's spending habits despite them earning a combined income of $11,500 a month. David Ramsey, an American radio personality known for his ultra-frugal advice, spoke to a woman called Alyssa who explained she and her husband do not contribute to their retirement and have just $3,000 in savings. They are also in debt to the tune of $138,000.

I was looking for the new yorker article that looked at the working poor. I can't find it anymore but essentially the writer figured out that people go into debt to pay for luxury items they can't afford like Disney World vacations, expensive cars, expensive gifts and eating out. In other words, they simply spend more than they earn.

Yeah, This is yet another great example of teaching useless garbage in school rather than life skills like properly balancing a budget, planning for the future, understanding how interest works, understanding investing, learning to cook properly so you don't eat out as much and are healthier.. etc. The list could go on...

But no, You have to learn why White people are evil and you live on 'stolen land'. (Which is all bullshit).

Public schools will never teach useful skills due to the conflict of interest. If you teach Little Timmy to support himself, he'll catch on that teachers are ripping him off and demand the abolishment of public schools.

Ramsey is hardly a finance guru. He made his money selling his "get rich or go to hell" financial education packages to churches at the low low price of $20,000 each + recurring charges for "updates". Then there is all the books the bastard sells.

That FF is a millionaire with his good ol' home boy slick double talk.

The best way to get rich is to convince everyone you are rich and know how to make them rich.. If they pay you $20k so that he can 'teach' you what you should already know.

It's effective advice for those who need it. He writes financial diet books for 500 lb people, not macronutrient min-maxing for athletes.

I'm eating rag soup and old bread on my luxurious boomer social security largess of $25k/year. I decide every month whether I buy a pack of hamburger or pay a f*ing surprise new tax fee.

Should have saved for retirement instead of relying on handouts from the next generation.

I thank obama and the 2008 debacle wiping out my retirement.

Was your retirement $5 and a pint of milk? If 2008 "wiped out" your retirement, you saved very little or completely failed to hedge it or both.
