All governments have been bankrupt for a long time. Some governments have never not been bankrupt. Yet, the countries continue to exist. The United States has been bankrupt for decades. I always chuckle when the topic of a debt ceiling occurs. LOL. There is no debt ceiling. It's properly called a trans debt ceiling because it just doesn't exist.

What we're witnessing now is the effect of our debt. Other countries want to stop allowing us to take on more debt because we can't pay it. The problem with this is, the system has been running like this for a long time: there's a lot of inertia to overcome.

The short answer is no country will declare bankruptcy. Debt will continue to climb until other countries simply stop doing business with us. This is the new normal. I suppose you can look at it like a Ponzi scheme where everyone realizes it's a ponzi scheme and they all shrug their shoulders and carry on.

I'm waiting for the collapse so I can tell the NPCs "I told you so"

We're in it now. The problem is it occurs slowly enough, it's like the frog in the boiling water.

>'In the Event of an Official US Bankruptcy'

Bahaha

How many times did the debt ceiling drama happened already? I lost the count personally. And oh, A GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN hahahah OMG NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO lol

As if this would be a bad thing

Yeah it's bad, I mean the deficit, and at the same time there are solutions. It's not an all or nothing situation, it's not a "fix everything all at once now or everything just goes boom right now!" situation. You can always default on some stuffs not all, or make budget cuts or both, for a start, restructure the debt

Most assholes in charge are in for the money, for their big ass pensions and all the crumbles they can get their hands on, they are glorified comedians and self serving pricks and they'll certainly won't hesitate to slash any budget they need to in order to keep the spice flowing
