It should be obvious that Karl Marx did not invent socialism; Robert Owen was practicing and theorizing about socialism before Karl Marx was born.
Hitler wrote:
>“Socialism is the science of dealing with the common wealth. Communism is not Socialism. Marxism is not Socialism. The Marxians have stolen the term and confused its meaning. I shall take Socialism away from the Socialists.
>Socialism, unlike Marxism, does not repudiate private property. Unlike Marxism, it involves no negation of personality, and unlike Marxism, it is patriotic... We are not internationalists. Our socialism is national. We demand the fulfillment of the just claims of the productive classes by the state on the basis of race solidarity. To us state and race are one.”

compare with the following, from a historian:
>"Owenism" was the main British variety of what Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels called utopian socialism. "The Owenites believed that society could be radically transformed by means of experimental communities, in which property was held in common, and social and economic activity was organized on a cooperative basis. This was a method of effecting social change which was radical, peaceful and immediate."

Unfortunately, I can find no evidence that Owen had any detailed opinions on race. Apparently he lived in a predominantly white country and did not consider race to be worthy of scientific study. If Owen ever wrote that whites were suitable for socialism but non-whites were not, then Owen's socialism would be very close to the type of socialism that Hitler claimed to support. However, Owen's writings suggest that he saw only one race, namely the human race:
>“I was forced, through seeing the error of their foundation, to abandon all belief in every religion which had been taught to man. But my religious feelings were immediately replaced by the spirit of universal charity — not for a sect, or a party, or for a country or a colour — but for the human race, and with a real and ardent desire to do good.”
– Life of Robert Owen (1857) his autobiography.
Thus as some say that "civic nationalists have no skin color," modern socialists might reasonably claim, "Owenite socialists have no skin color."
