Night soil and lant were commonly collected for agriculture. Nothing wrong with that. Plenty wrong with using city sewage to grow food. I wonder if there is something else that is full of shit and could be composted in the city sewage's stead.

So toxic. Pharmaceuticals that don’t break down, chemicals and heavy metals that end up in the sewer, ewww. Also biosolids production isn’t perfect, only a reduction in biological pathogens, not eliminated. More ecoli lettuce anyone?
