this doesn't include cost of food and energy, correct? the real numbers are probably closer to 40%.
Had a 600$ grocery bill that 1 year ago was 300-400$ and it wasn't because I bought more. I've got a standard list I fill twice a month. Lets you track inflation on the things that matter pretty easily.
yeah its ridiculous, the costs are astronomical now for everything. I think by design of the currency, this was always the plan. It's why boomers got off relatively scotts free whilst the next generations got screwed, were jsut at the exponential part of the currency where it hurts really bad. And people will blame the whole two incomes required as feminism, but feminism was the fall guy for inflation killing purchasing power
It seems like they did include food and energy. Energy increased 18.3%.
>Some of the biggest contributors to the latest increase in inflation were food, shelter and gasoline, according to the BLS. In fact, the index tracking gas prices surged to rise 18.3% month-on-month in March, comprising more than half of the total monthly increase in CPI. In February, gasoline had posted a 6.6% monthly increase.>>
