I like it, it cuts down on the who you know and brings the focus back to what you deliver and fuck traffic, kahakis, getting stuck at the fucking office and all that shit. The corporate culture fucking blows anyway, at least now I don't have to suffer my retarded coworkers.

Article is garbage though, author can't stop shoving in their vaccine agenda everywhere (among many others).

Good. Boomers who love commutes can blow a goat.

Their bullshit games are not going to last. Especially now that everyone can see that it's actually cheaper to work remotely.

Oh you need to fill important by having people show up bright and early at the office and have multi-hour long meetings that serve no real purpose. Suddenly the employees working from home are blowing through their tasks in half the time they needed before. Because they don't have to deal with commutes and office bullshit.

Some of these boomers are running scared because of the problems (they created) in side their teams/departments.

Maybe some of them will connect the dots and realize they should be contracting jobs out to small firms remotely instead having full time employees for everything.

You can quit all you like, but people who actually show up to work and be able to network will have a better future than those staying at home and occasionally showing up on their tiny screens.

Sure, there are some jobs that you can work from home, but you won't be getting ahead unless you're one of the few that can work from home like no other.

Exactly. All of the "stay at home" people are getting left behind in the dust. You can't do everything in your PJs. These kids my age need to get up off of their lazy asses. 30 year old kids, I swear..

You'll notice its women doing this in droves. I partially agree with you on the networking part. But some meeting addicted boomer that's about to retire in the next few years trying to make power plays isn't doing anyone any good.

Lots of "office manager" do-nothings are getting nervous.

Especially the ones with diverse teams that aren't worth shit in the company. Apparently those pats on the back do not equal job security.

Excuse me? If they quit, what are they 'working' on at home?

Different job that allows remote work. The woman mentioned in the byline had a job offer even before resigning.

It's cheaper to allow employees to work remotely now that they're home workstations/offices are set up to do so.

It's even cheaper to contract jobs out to small firms instead of having a in house team for everything.

You have to be careful with contracting though, and have someone on the decision-making board that is primarily concerned with doing the job right, rather than just saving money. Focusing mainly on the cost is the easiest way to get cut-rate streetshitters.

At 50% on-site capacity, I started to get fucked up in the head. Just stopped caring about schedule and timing. My boss told me it might be better if I was 100% back on site. Lo and behold, with my routine back to normal I'm back to being efficient.

It's 100%, either way. 50% doesn't work. I wouldn't mind going full remote or full on site given the black and white choice between the two. You can't mix it though.

The people who want to blanket decide to nope out of on site probably don't need to be doing that job. Their job probably isn't even necessary.

Plenty of necessary "office jobs" can be done remotely from home.

Too many managers like to micro manage and want to feel important. Can't do that over a Skype call or a person completing their tasks off site and off camera.

More importantly you suddenly need less managers if people are working remotely and everything is being done digitally and both turned in & signed digitally.
