Standardization of parts and streamlining manufacturing processes lead to rapid advancements in technological advancement, at the cost of changing the lifestyle of the working class to modern serfdom. It was a paradigm shift that traded technological stagnation for what would become mega-corporations and a fully entrenched elite class.
